This last weekend we went camping for boy scouts. it was nice but it rained most of Saturday. :-/ It ended up being really muddy and just bleh. Part of camping though. :) Yes that is a trash bag poncho, TJ's poncho ripped badly... It actually worked really great except when it started pouring again. His head was not covered... :-/ Kids learned how to make sling shots too! Oh Joy! LOL
We added a new member to our family. Actually we added a few. We added a turtle to our family. He is Evan's pet. He is actually pretty cute. We also added another dog to the family. My Inlaw's neighbor across the street were getting rid of their sons vizsla. There was no way we were going to let the opp slip through our fingers. He is the same age as our princess. He is a little skinnier though then we would like and they fed him 3 times a day. I think within a couple weeks he'll start packing on a few Lbs. I am adding stuff to his food on a regular basis but he is only getting one meal a day. That is all we feed Shelby. I've just been making up for it by putting extra calories into his bowl. Both dogs eat the Just 6 food by Rachel Ray. That is the ONLY food Shelby can eat without having a reaction. She has actually filled in nicely and has done well on it. I will not be changing her food unless Rachel Ray decides to quit making the Just 6 food, In which case I am not sure what I'll do. :( I also have to buy Pri (Our male vizsla) a collar. I went with a Furcode Collar. Well worth the $. I bought just the tag for Shelby & LOVE it!!! This time I chose to get the collar. It would have cost me more to buy a collar at the store then turn around and buy the tag.... This is one of the best tags. If you do not have one for your pets it is well worth it! You can update all of your info online for the pet and update photos. I have Shelby's set up and have in there that she is allergic to most foods except the Just 6. You can record their shots in there, vet info, multiple ways to contact you. It is really a great deal & honestly for the price... You pay more then that for a piece of crap tag from pet smart!!! This one if you move you can update your info! Change your #? Update your info!! Really great product. I highly recomend them. Especially with 99% of the American population owning smart phones. We also have some fish. They're more of an experiment though at this point. They have been dieing off a few a day. It's quiet interesting... Here is a picture of the turtle & the dogs.
I got some planting done as well. We went to the fish hatchery as a family a couple weeks ago. I came home with 3 Redbud Trees, 1 Tulip Poplar Tree, & 1 Dogwood Tree. Kirt & I planted all of them throughout our yard. I also planted my veggies into tubs. I have got 2 big tubs that have Beefsteak Tomatoes *YUM!*, I have one that has 4 Cherry Tomato Plants & 4 garlic (Garlic isnt doing well though!), I have 1 Tub that has Mixed Bell Peppers & Jalop Peppers in it, I have another tub that has Okra & Cilantro that I just planted the other day. I also planted some flowers. On one side of my house in the backyard we planted some 5-7 foot sunflowers and then in front of those I planted a bunch of wild flowers. On the side of the house in the front My youngest planted a flower, then my Oldest planted a flower, and then I planted some 10-12' sunflowers up there. I am really excited about the sunflowers. My dad loved sunflowers. I am hoping that I will be able to grow them. I've got some other flowers I need to plant I just havent figured out where I wanna plant them. I need to go through and figure it out though so i can get them in the yard. I also went through and repotted my Big Aloe plants. I had already pulled out 6 babies (And found homes for all but 1 of those 6 and then I still have 3 pots of other babies from the last time I pulled babies!). My aloe plants are very much happier when they're not hanging over the side. I mixed the soil with some compost that my husband helped me get and bring home. my MIL has a farm that allows us as much compost as we want. ;-) Well my veggies are all in compost and so are all of my Aloe plants, my rose bush, & my cactus. I have also started my own compost pile out in the backyard. I am excited for that. I have my little bucket sitting next to the sink and already starting to fill up! :) Gonna be a busy spring still if it would ever stay warm enough. I am going to be installing a clothing line in the month of May with Kirt. we're also taking this stuff off the fence that is ruining our fence & I have an area in my yard that we are ripping up and replacing with brick too.
I have also been doing some spring cleaning. My friend Jalaine has been working on cleaning out 10 items a day... It has inspired my spring cleaning. I have got a ton of stuff I need to donate I just haven't gotten around to donating it quiet yet. I am still working on kids clothes. I need to get that finished so I can get them out of my house... I've listed a few things on Listia *There is a link to join listia at the top!* You have to watch out for the scammers but I have gotten a ton of credits listing items on there. ;-) I am excited to list some more and get some more credits....
This coming Saturday I won't be in town. My happy butt is going to to the RT Booklovers Convention!! Yes I am excited! Not excited about a 2 1/2 hour drive there and another back but I am going to have a blast!!! Later in May I am leaving and heading up to Iowa. That's when I scheduled my dad's memorial. Gonna see a few of my close friends too (and preferably have a drama free week, I can't stand drama being in my life!) It's crazy that it'll be a year in Aug! Time sure flies.
I think I have written enough of a book today. I've got to get started on getting some dinner ready for my kids. They're driving me crazy this afternoon by fighting with eachother. When is bedtime again?! I love them dearly but sometimes they just drive me that crazy!?!
